Neighbourhood Diaries Timeline

Page history last edited by Bishan Samaddar 2 yrs ago

Our timeline right now is still a little sparse. This is the basic plan, and I am confident, given our current status, of being able to adhere to this. As we progress, we will be able to make the timeline more detailed, especially with information on weekly workshops and trainings.

August 2007

• Hire Project Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator

• Finalize the two neighbourhoods where the project will be implemented, identifying partner organizations based in these communities.

• Work on curriculum for workshops, with involvement of technical consultants

September 2007

• Finalize curriculum for Neighbourhood Diaries workshops

• Work on developing evaluation procedure.

October 2007

• Share project plan/curriculum with partner organizations in the selected neighbourhoods

• Start setting up computer centres in the neighbourhoods

November 2007 to April 2008

• Hold weekly workshops with groups of youth in the neighbourhoods on writing, photo-documentation, web literacy and blogging

• The Neighbourhood Diaries blog is up and running with regular posts by youth in two communities, talking and presenting photographs about their own lives in their community, and the life of the communities as well

May 2008

• Evaluate impact of project on youth participants, community, partner organization and blogosphere.

• Based on evaluation, map future of Neighbourhood Diaries in terms of viability, flexibility and further funding

June to July 2008

• Continue field visits and mentoring of young citizen journalists in the neighbourhood on a regular basis.

• Submit report to Rising Voices
